The Chatham-Kent Community Leaders’ Cabinet will host a workplace wellness summit on mental health Monday May 8 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Chatham Capitol Theatre.
The event will feature guest speakers from both the private and public sector as well as expert consultants in the field.
The theme of the day will be how bringing awareness of the importance of mental health issues into the mainstream can reduce the human and financial toll of mental illness in the workplace.
The summit is open to the media. Co-chairs Mayor Randy Hope and Stephen Doig, Executive Director of Chatham-Kent Children’s Treatment Services as well as speakers will be available briefly from 9:30 to 9:45 or at the conclusion of the program.
The event will be followed by a flag-raising and barbeque at the Civic Centre from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. which is hosted by The Mental Health Network.
