‘Drunk-in-public’ charges laid in Wallaceburg

A Wallaceburg man faces ‘drunk-in-public’ charges after an incident on Wednesday.

Police officials say last night officers responded to the area of McNaughton Avenue and Wallace Street in Wallaceburg for a police assistance-type call.

The man had allegedly gotten a piece of his clothing stuck on a pole at this location and was unable to free himself.

Police attended and arrested the man for being intoxicated in a public place.

Police allege that due to being unable to care for himself at the time he was located, the 54-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was held until sober.
