WDSS closed due to potential threat

On the advice of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) has decided to close Wallaceburg District Secondary School to students on Friday, March 1 due to concerns about a potential threat at the school.

School board officials say Concerns were raised regarding a potential threat against the school after a note was found in the school at the end of the day on Thursday, Feb. 28.

LKDSB Senior Administration has decided to close the school on Friday to allow police to investigate the incident.

“Student and staff safety are a top priority for the LKDSB and we follow the direction of local police regarding matters of school safety,” stated Director Jim Costello.
