Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 51-year-old man is facing charges following an attempted robbery outside a transit station on Wellington Street West.
Police responded around 6:05 p.m. on July 9 after a caller reported a man had approached him, demanded money, and threatened harm while holding an object. No injuries were reported.
Officers quickly located a suspect matching the description provided and made an arrest.
The accused has been charged with robbery with a weapon and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He was released with a court date set for August 11, 2025.
