Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday morning, police responded to a mischief complaint at a residence on Princess Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police identified the man responsible for smashing windows at the residence.

A 40-year-old- male, of Prince Street in Chatham was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with breaching his release conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 25th, 2018 a man was released from Headquarters with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Just after 4:35 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious motorist on McNaughton Ave. in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was out past his curfew.

The 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night around 8 p.m. police were called to Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg in regards to a theft complaint.

Witnesses advised officers a male party had just stolen a garbage pail and was taking off down the street with it.

A male party was seen riding a bicycle down the street pulling a large garbage bin.

Through investigation, police learned the garage bin belonged to the Chatham-Kent Police Service.

As a result the 38 year-old-Wallaceburg man was arrested for theft and possession and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Man charged with fail to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon police responded to a potential theft complaint at a business on St. Clair Street.

Police located the suspect, and learned the theft did not occur, but the suspect was currently wanted by Chatham-Kent Police Service for failing to attend court in May 2019.

A 33-year-old-Chatham male was arrested for failing to attend court and held for a bail hearing.

Man charged with being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 10:30 p.m. last night, police were called to an intoxicated man in the area of First St. in Chatham.

Police located the male and for his own safety, the man was taken into custody as he was unable to care for himself.

The 40-year-old Chatham man has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

He will be released when sober.

Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning around 2 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that an unwanted male party broke into the residence, was breaching his probation order and was harassing the complaint.

The 39-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with unlawfully in a dwelling house, fail to comply with probation order x 2 and criminal harassment.

He has been held pending a bail hearing.

Female charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning around 1 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the couple was at a party earlier in the evening.

Both parties had been drinking, and during the drive home with friends the female party began to assault the male party in the vehicle.

As a result the 62-year-old Chatham female was arrested and charged with assault.

She was transported to police headquarters and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

911 hang up calls

Chatham-Kent Police responded to 35 hang up/accidental 911 calls in the last 24 hour period.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind everyone that if you accidentally dial 911, please stay on the line.
