Plane crashes in Lambton County

Lambton OPP official allege: On September 21, 2019, members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Northville Fire Department responded to a plane crash in the water in the Port Franks area in Lambton Shores.

On Saturday September 21, 2019 at approximately 2 p.m., Lambton OPP responded to a report of an Ultralight pontoon aircraft that had collided into the water.

Nearby vessels were able to assist the pilot and the passenger to shore.

No injuries were reported by either occupant.

Initial investigation determined the small aircraft was attempting to land in the water, when it collided with the water, flipped and came to a rest on its roof.

Lambton OPP are continuing to investigate.
