Whatever the need (food, clothing, blankets, tarps, etc.,) these funds will help support the volunteers who are reaching out to help meet the needs of some our community’s homeless during the cold, harsh and dark days of the season.

Steve Pratt, Chief Executive Officer of the United Way of CK – “On any given night approximately 87 people in Chatham-Kent experience homelessness. It’s the generosity of caring businesses and residents, like the folks gathered here today, that powers United Way’s work in the community. It allows us to tackle together persistent, #UNIGNORABLE issues – like homelessness, hunger, and
poverty – that are preventing far too many individuals and families from getting ahead. When you show your local love for community,
you’re not only helping to meet immediate needs of some of our community’s most marginalized and vulnerable, but you’re also helping create pathways out of poverty so that everyone can thrive.”

Trevor Mailloux, General Manager & Partner of Maple City Homes Ltd. stated “The fact that we build beautiful, quality homes, makes us particularly sensitive to the reality that there are people living among us who don’t have homes, or food, or warm clothing.
We wanted to pull our extended team together to try to help. My partners and I are really proud of the generous outpouring of support from all of our subtrades and suppliers.”

Media and members of the public are invited to a cheque presentation at 268 Moonstone Crescent in The Meadows, on Thursday, December 19 at 3pm.
