Man and woman arrested on warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 19, 2019, an officer attended an address on Lacroix Street in Chatham in regards to a call for service.
While present, there he observed two vehicle keys inside the residence and seized them as suspected stolen property.
Through investigation, it was confirmed that both of the seized keys had in fact been stolen and used to steal two vehicles in Chatham, which have both since been recovered and returned to their owners.
Warrants were subsequently issued for the arrest of a man and woman in connection with this investigation.
On December 31, 2019, the man and woman were both present at the courthouse in Chatham.
At that time, they were placed under arrest on the strength of these warrants.
A 27-year-old Chatham woman and a 38-year-old Chatham man have both been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.
The woman was released from custody with a future court date.
The man has been held in custody.
Man arrested on warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 31, 2019, at approximately 10:15 a.m., and officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg located a man on Montgomery Crescent who was known to be wanted on several outstanding warrants.
A 23-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested for possession of stolen property under $5,000, fraud under $5,000, use stolen credit card, two counts of fail to comply, and an outstanding committal warrant.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Man arrested on warrant
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 27, 2019, the accused man attended a store on Queen Street in Chatham and stole a Playstation 4 along with four video games, valued at approximately $520.
The man was able to be identified through the store surveillance video footage and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On December 31, 2019, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the accused was located by officers at an address on Murray Street in Wallaceburg and placed under arrest.
A 42-year-old Walpole Island man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possess stolen property under $5,000.
He was later released from custody with a future court date.
Man arrested for domestic related charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 15, 2019, the accused man was released from custody with a number of conditions after being arrested and charged for break and enter, assault, assault with a weapon, and two counts of uttering threats.
These conditions included house arrest, not to communicate with several individuals, and not to attend a certain address in Tilbury.
On December 31, 2019, the accused attended the address on Crawford Street in Tilbury and communicated with one of the victims, breaching his conditions.
When the accused was confronted by a friend of the victim, he struck the friend with a broom.
Police attended the residence and located the accused hiding in a bedroom closet inside the residence.
A 25-year-old Blenheim man has been arrested and charged with three counts of breach of recognizance as well as assault with a weapon.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Man arrested on warrant
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 30, 2019, at approximately 10 p.m., officers attended an address on King Street East in Chatham in regards to a family dispute.
While officers were present there, it was discovered that one of the people involved was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
A 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested for two counts of theft under $5,000 as well as fail to attend court.
He was later released from custody with a future court date.
Man arrested for domestic assault
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 30, 2019, police attended an address in Merlin to check the well-being of a resident.
While officers were present, the resident disclosed several previous assaults that had taken place earlier in the year.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Merlin man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.
He was later released from custody with a future court date.
Man arrested for shoplifting
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 30, 2019, at approximately 10 a.m., the accused male attended a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham and was observed by a Loss Prevention employee to be concealing food items in his coat and then leaving the store without paying.
When confronted by Loss Prevention the accused fled the area on his bicycle.
Police attended and were able to locate the accused attempting to hide in the area.
A 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested for theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
He was later released from custody with a future court date.
Man arrested for sexual assault
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 30, 2019, the accused male attended the victim’s apartment on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg to conduct maintenance repairs.
While inside the apartment, the accused touched the victim in a sexual manner over her clothes and then left.
Police were contacted and the accused was located inside the apartment building and placed under arrest.
A 67-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
He was later released from custody with a future court date and conditions.
RIDE program results in charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On the evening of December 30, 2019, officers conducted RIDE programs at various locations within Chatham.
As a result, approximately 225 vehicles were stopped, 7 tickets were issued, and a 33-year-old Chatham man had his vehicle towed and impounded after being arrested for driving while disqualified.
He was released from custody with a future court date.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the man pictured below.
He is the suspect of a possession of stolen property and fraud investigation which occurred at the Shell Gas Station on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday night between the hours of 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. officers conducted R.I.D.E. checks at various locations within Chatham-Kent.
As a result, 367 vehicles were stopped with only two tickets issued to drivers by police.
Most motorists were abiding by the rules of the road and therefore, sent on their way.

Man charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early Sunday morning at 12 a.m. an officer came across a two vehicle collision on Queen’s Line near Bonneau Line in Tilbury.
The officer believed one of the drivers was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.
He was transported to the police station for breath tests.
The 38-year-old Tilbury man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was released with a future court date.
