Man charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, shortly after 3 p.m. the man was released from the Courthouse.

Just before 4 p.m. the man attended the LCBO on Wellington Street and stole five bottles Crown Royal.

Officers located the man a short distance away, still in possession of the whiskey.

The 29-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Youth charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance between youths in the area of Queen Street and Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Minor injuries were reported.

A 16-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

He was released pending a future court date of June 15, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police arrested a woman wanted for failing to attend court earlier this month.

A 22-year-old Chatham woman was released pending a future court date of June 9, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, a woman wanted for failing to attend court turned herself in to police.

A 28-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and released pending a future court date of June 11, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, a man wanted on several outstanding warrants was arrested just outside of Wallaceburg.

The 24-year-old Port Lambton man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police arrested a man in Windsor who was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

The 49-year-old Windsor man was transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen vehicle in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday between 2 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. unknown suspects stole a grey 2010 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck from a residence on Gleeson Line.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates BC17650.

Theft of rifle in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Tuesday night at 11 p.m. and yesterday morning at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspects forced their way into a locked shed and stole a .22 Winchester rifle and case, from inside the workshop.

A vehicle on the property was also entered and rummaged through.

Theft of tools in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, unknown suspects entered a construction site on Moonstone Crescent and stole various DeWalt tools from a storage container.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $1,200.
