Chatham-Kent OPP: On March 31, 2020 at 8:22 p.m. a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Highway 401 near the Communication Road exit noticed a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was displayed on radar in excess of 170-km/h in the posted 100-km/h zone.
The driver, a 23-year-old Oakville resident, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.
They are scheduled to appear in court on July 8 to answer to the charge.
This charge includes an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.
