The CK Public Health Unit has announced 29 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Chatham-Kent, bringing the total to 75.

“40 of the confirmed cases are the result of an outbreak at a local workplace,” CK Public Health officials stated.

Kent Bridge company Greenhill Produce announced in a press release on Sunday evening a total of 11 positive COVID-19 cases had been confirmed at their greenhouse facility. Details, here.

CK Public Health officials confirmed a COVID-19 outbreak has now been declared at the Kent Bridge business, as 40 employees have tested positive for the virus.

“The outbreak is being contained, and any individuals that could have been exposed have been contacted,” stated Dr. David Colby, Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health, in a press release.

“Every individual who has tested positive or had symptoms is in isolation. All persons that they have come into contact have been notified by our team, and have been isolated and directed to watch for symptoms.”

CK Public Health officials say they would like to inform the public that all appropriate measures regarding infection control are in place.

“This is Public Health,” Dr. Colby said.

“This is what we’ve done with disease outbreaks long before COVID-19, what we do every day of this pandemic, and what we will continue to do long after this virus has subsided.”
