– A tender award for Contract T19-417 Structural and Mechanical Rehabilitation of the Base Line Bridge over Sydenham River in the Community of Wallaceburg was approved as amended. Watch for a full story on the Sydenham Current.
– A Motion by North Kent Councillor Jamie McGrail re: Dresden Kinsmen Community Splash Pad was approved. Watch for a full story on the Sydenham Current.
– Council approved a number of planning reports, including a proposal for two 6-storey residential apartment buildings at 550-570 Park Avenue West in Chatham, draft plans for a subdivision on Churchill Park Road in Chatham and plans for a McDonald’s in Tilbury.
– A report on Single Source – One 4WD Industrial Tractor Loader was approved.
– A report on Contract T20-104 Supply and Application of Dust Suppressants was approved.
– A report on Dedicated Gas Tax Funds for Public Transportation Systems, April 2019 – March 2020 Program was approved.
– A report on the Long Grass and Weeds By-law was approved.
– A report on the Tax Policy 2020 was approved.
– A report on WDC Rail 2018 Report to Shareholders & 2019 Draft Financial Statements was approved.
– An application for Site Plan Control PL202000049 Ridgetown & Area Adult Activity Centre, 40 Erie Street South, Community of Ridgetown (East Kent) was approved.
– A report on Vehicle for Hire By-law Licence Extension and Other Licensing Matters was approved.
– Council also met in closed session to discuss the following: Proposed disposition of land by the municipality with regard to Land Lease – portion 25302 Big Pointe Road, Dover Township; advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose with regard to Ridge Landfill; and proposed acquisition of land by the municipality or local board and advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose with regard to Surplus St. Clair Catholic School Board properties, specifically St. Joseph Catholic School, 25 Raleigh Street, Chatham.
