Pair charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in both the man and woman assaulting each other.

The 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault.

The 26-year-old woman fled from police.

Following a short foot chase, the woman was taken into custody.

She was charged with assault and resist arrest.

Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of September 18, 2020.

Man charged with criminal harassment

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, a man reported to police that he was being harassed by another man, known to him.

Through investigation, police learned that the man left multiple threatening voice mail messages on the victim’s phone and attended his work place.

The 42-year-old Sarnia man was arrested in Tilbury and charged with two counts of criminal harassment.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Collision leads to impaired driving charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Creek Road near Doyle Line.

The man lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and came to rest in the ditch.

Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 21-year-old Waterton Park, Alberta man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released pending a future court date of July 31, 2020.

His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

Theft of tools in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, unknown suspects entered an unlocked truck on Eugenie Street and stole various Milwaukee and DeWalt power tools along with a Milwaukee PACKOUT modular tool box with wheels.

Most of the tools were marked with ‘T+G’ in black marker.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $5,000.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on St. Clair Street near McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $7,000.

A 68-year-old Highgate man was charged with making an improper left turn.
