Update: The rainfall warning ended in Chatham-Kent at 7:11 a.m.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning across Chatham-Kent.
The warning was issued at 4:26 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020.
Meanwhile, the heat warning, which was in place for several consecutive days, was lifted at 3:04 a.m.
“Rain, at times heavy, continues,” forecasters say.
“Hazard: Torrential rain producing local rainfall in excess of 50 milimetres per hour. Timing: Now continuing into the morning.”
Environment Canada officials say for information concerning flooding, consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry District office.
“Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details,” forecasters say.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.”
The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority issued a flood watch on Friday.
