Al MacLeod Technical Award handed out in Wallaceburg

On Monday, July 6 at 1 p.m., the Al MacLeod Technical Award was presented to Daniel Kraayenbrink, a Grade 12 student, graduating from Wallaceburg District Secondary School.

The award was sponsored by Wallaceburg company 1 Source Design, in memory of longtime employee, Al MacLeod.

1 Source Design has been in the tool and die industry in Wallaceburg for over 30 years.

They have been providing machinery to the tool and molding industries in countries such as the United States, Japan, North Korea, China and Germany.

The award is presented to a student who shows technological excellence in courses at WDSS.

The student is chosen by teachers at the school every year.

This year, the award was presented by Graham Tomlinson, the engineering program manager at 1 Source Design.

Kraayenbrink is also an employee of 1 Source Design.
