Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Police continue to receive reports of suspicious phone calls from people purporting to be from the CRA. 

Scammers may use threatening language or an aggressive tone to scare you into making payments.   

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind everyone that personal or financial information should never be given over the phone, especially if you didn’t initiate the call. 

If you receive a suspicious email, please refrain from clicking any links, and delete the email immediately.

Police investigate incident on private property with golf cart

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday police assisted in a collision on private property involving a golf cart.

Two young people flipped over a custom golf cart while on private property and pinched one of the youth underneath the cart.

Family members up righted the golf cart.

Fire, ambulance and police responded.

For precautionary measures the youth was air lifted to London.

The young youth did not sustain any serious injuries and should soon be released from hospital once all test results are returned.

Mischief in Wheatley

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime overnight on July 12, unknown suspects smashed the rear window of the complainants vehicle.

Nothing was taken from the vehicle and it is believed that the vehicle was not entered.

Damage is estimated at approximately $300.

Domestic assault, police seeking warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police investigated an assault complaint in regards to domestic related offences.

As a result of the investigation the Chatham-Kent Police are seeking a warrant for a 40-year-old Chatham man with regards to the offences of threats, assault x 2, assault cause bodily harm and mischief under $5,000.
