Woman charged with breaching release conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 19, 2020 the woman was released from Court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that she was not to attend within 50 meters of specific business on Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Yesterday afternoon, police observed the woman sitting on the side of the road near the business.

A 27-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing and remanded into custody until August 26, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, a man wanted for two counts of failing to attend court, attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

A 19-year-old Chatham man was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of September 28, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Witherspoon Street in Chatham.

Officers located the vehicle and through investigation learned that the man in the vehicle was wanted for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension and flight from police.

A 33-year-old Raleigh Township man was released pending a future court date of October 7, 2020.

Man charged with being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of an intoxicated man in Tecumseh Park in Chatham.

Officers located the man who was unable to care for himself.

For his own safety, the man was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.

The 57-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

He was released early this morning when sober.
