Wallaceburg Memorial Arena getting prepped for opening

With the ice freshly installed at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena, the Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) is excited to get their 2020/2021 season underway.

While an exact opening date for the arena has yet to be announced, the Wallaceburg hockey organization said on their website they have a tentative start date planned for September 28, 2020.

“WMHA is working on finalizing our schedule and protocols to meet our target of hitting the ice next week,” the group posted on social media on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

“A tremendous thank you to Jane (McGee) and the staff at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena for the effort in getting our barn ready. In just a short time since the Council decision to open the arena, a good number of COVID-19 protocols have been put into place.”

The group also posted some photos showcasing a “sneak preview of the rink” along with new signage and upgrades.
