Seth Griffith cracks Edmonton Oilers training camp roster

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith has been named to the training camp roster for the Edmonton Oilers.

Griffith, who celebrates his 28th birthday today, January 4, 2021, will wear #23 for the NHL club, as he battles for a full-time spot.

Oilers officials say other than intrasquad scrimmages, there are no pre-season games scheduled.

Edmonton opens the 2020-21 campaign on Wednesday, January 13 at home against the Vancouver Canucks.

The Oilers opened training camp with 40 players (five goaltenders, 12 defencemen, 23 forwards) on the roster.

The team will also have the ability to carry players on a taxi squad this season.

Griffith signed a two-year, two-way deal with the Oilers on Friday, October 9, 2020.

Griffith scored 21 goals and 20 assists in 58 games with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose last season.
