Woman charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman stole a disinfectant machine, valued at $120.

Officers located the woman a short distance away and she was arrested.

The stolen item was recovered and returned to the store.

A 48-year-old Chatham woman was charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

She was released pending a future court date of February 10, 2021.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police arrested a person in Wallaceburg who was wanted for criminal harassment and failing to attend court for their fingerprints.

The 20-year-old Wallaceburg resident was released pending a future court date of February 17, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a woman in Chatham who was wanted for breaching her Probation Order.

The woman was also arrested in connection with shoplifting incidents at Shoppers Drug Mart and Home Hardware last month.

The 36-year-old woman of no fixed address has been charged with breach of probation, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000 and two counts of theft under $5,000.

She remains in police custody this morning.

Police investigating a fail to remain collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3:45 a.m. this morning, police responded to a fail to remain collision on Blythewood Crescent in Chatham.

Unknown suspects driving a stolen black Ford F-150, bearing Ontario license plates AX74 909, struck a light post causing approximately $10,000 damage.

Officers located the damaged truck a short distance away, abandoned.

Through investigation, police learned that the truck was stolen from a residence on Merritt Avenue sometime between 7 p.m. last night and this morning at 3 a.m.

Stolen truck in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, unknown suspects stole a 1989 silver Chevrolet pick-up truck from a business on Marlborough Street.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates VX8 355.
