Police execute search warrant
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last Friday night, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit, executed a search warrant at a local motel in Ridgetown.
A specific room was searched, resulting in the following items being seized:
– suspected cocaine
– Winchester .22 caliber rifle with loaded magazine
– ammunition
– digital scale
– two cell phones
A 47-year-old Ridgetown man, currently in custody, is facing drug and firearm related offences.
He has been remanded into custody pending a future court date of February 8, 2021.
Yesterday morning, a 44-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with drug and firearm related offences.
He was released pending a future court date of March 11, 2021.
Yesterday morning, a 31-year-old Blenheim woman was arrested and charged with drug and firearm related offences.
She was released pending a future court date of March 11, 2021.
Man charged with assault police
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man in Blenheim.
An officer on general patrol located the man and through investigation, learned that he was currently breaching his release conditions.
As the officer placed the man under arrest, he pulled away in an attempt to resist arrest and assaulted the officer.
Following a short struggle, the man was taken into custody.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
The 37-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions, resist arrest, assault police and drug possession.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Traffic stop leads to drug charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 1 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on St. Clair Street near Maryknoll Road in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the driver, a 37-year-old Chatham woman was wanted in connection with three break and enters at Access Storage in Blenheim.
The woman was arrested and upon being searched incident to arrest was found to be in possession of suspected cocaine and cash.
The passenger, a 40-year-old Chatham woman was found to be breaching her release conditions and was arrested.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine.
In the vehicle, accessible to both occupants, officers found suspected crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and a small digital scale.
Both women have been charged with three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking.
The passenger was additional charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.
They have both been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Executed warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police located a man who was wanted for failing to attend court to provide a DNA sample.
A 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a Court Order.
The DNA Order was completed and the man was released pending a future court date of March 3, 2021.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a man who was wanted for multiple counts of uttering threats and criminal harassment.
The 30-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police located a man in Chatham who was wanted for break and enter and failing to comply with his Probation Order.
A 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date of March 5, 2021.
Police looking for the public’s assistance
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a fail to remain collision on St. Clair Street near McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that a woman was driving southbound on St. Clair Street when she made contact with a vehicle turning through the intersection.
Minor damage was reported.
No one was injured.
Police would like to speak with the woman who was last seen driving a tan coloured car.

Traffic enforcement
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, officers conducted speed enforcement on McNaughton Avenue East and Longwoods Road in Chatham.
11 motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.
The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind drivers that there’s no such thing as just speeding a little.
Speeding is speeding.
