Police: Fentanyl seized in Wallaceburg, vehicles stolen at Ridgetown College, false 911 calls

Stolen motor vehicles

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, February 27, 2021 at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a break and enter at the University of Guelph – Ridgetown campus.

Through investigation, it was revealed that unknown suspects stole:

– 2006 Green Ford FX5 Car Ontario Plate BEXA 179 ā€“ ( University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus decals on the sides, full tank of gas)

– 2004 Grey Dodge RPC Pickup Ontario Plate 9999MD – (Missing front bumper plate, front bumper damage, University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus decals on the sides, half tank of gas)

– Two Thinkpad Laptops

– One Samsung tablet.

Warrant arrest and drug seizure

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man turned himself at the Wallaceburg station of Chatham-Kent Police Station knowing there was a warrant out for his arrest.

While searching the man incident to arrest, police located an amount of suspected Fentanyl.

The accused was charged for the possession of the drug.

Man charged with possession of a weapon

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, February 27, 2021 at approximately 9:45 a.m., officers received multiple calls to the Wellington Street and Queen Street area of Chatham, in response to a call of a suspicious male party, swinging a baseball bat.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was soon located, arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: False 911 calls are continuing to pull officers away from incidents that require their attention. In the last 24 hours the Chatham-Kent Police Emergency Communication Centre received 27 false 911 calls.
