Attempted murder charges laid after a stabbing in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early Tuesday morning, police responded to a stabbing at an apartment building in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman was walking and yelling in the hallway of the complex while in possession of a kitchen knife.

Three different men exited their respective apartments as they heard the commotion in the hallway.

The woman attempted to stab two of the men and made contact with the third man, resulting in the man being stabbed twice.

Officers located the woman and she was taken into custody.

The 58-year-old Wallaceburg man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to London for medical attention.

The 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

She has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing today.
