Woman charged with impaired driving in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police arrested a woman for impaired driving yesterday evening.

On April 1, 2021 around 9:50 p.m., police received a call from the driver stating she had just been sideswiped by a vehicle at Tweedsmuir and Queen Street.

However, after further investigation it was determined that the female had collided with a parking meter in the area of King Street East and William Street.

A 26-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with Operation while impaired and operation while impaired 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code.

As well as fail to remain contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

She has been released with a future court date of Aril 23, 2021.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a man on an outstanding warrant for robbery, weapons offences and failing to comply.

On March 24, 2021 police responded to 658 Grand Avenue East, the Chatham Motel, for a report of a robbery.

The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

The male party was later identified and a warrant issued for his arrest.

On April 1, 2021 at approximately 4:30 p.m. the male party was located and arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Female arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 1, 2021 at approximately 11:23 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police arrested a female on an outstanding warrant for theft under $5,000 and possession under $5,000.

Stemming from a theft that occurred on March 31, 2021 at 15 Witherspoon in Chatham.

A 48-year-old Chatham woman was located and arrested without incident.

She was released with a future court date of April 27, 2021.

Female arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 1, 2021 at approximately 8:48 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police arrested a female on an outstanding warrant.

A 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman was located and arrested in Wallaceburg for operation while impaired contrary to the Criminal Code.

She was released with a future court date of April 20, 2021.
