Man charged with impaired driving in Dresden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 2, 2021 at approximately 11:43 a.m. the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Claymore Line.

A vehicle had driven off the roadway and into a large ditch.

The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The driver was not injured.

A 67-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with a future court date of April 30, 2021 for operation while impaired.

Impaired by drug in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 2, 2021 at approximately 7:30 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police received a report on an erratic driver in the area of Taylor Ave.

The vehicle and driver was located.

Through investigation it was discovered the driver was impaired and charged with operation while impaired by drug.

A 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with a future court date of April 21, 2021.

Man charged with impaired driving in Wheatley

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 2, 2021 at approximately 9:20 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police were called and advised a vehicle had impacted a tree.

Police attended and determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

A 22-year-old Kingsville resident was arrested and released with a future court date of April 21, 2021.

Woman steals sunglasses, then a bicycle

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 2, 2021 at approximately 3:54 p.m. a woman attended Queens Variety and selected a pair of sunglasses and leaves the store without making any attempt to pay for the sunglasses.

The store clerk follows the woman out of the store while calling police.

The clerk retrieves the sunglasses and the woman punched the clerk.

She then fled and located a bicycle.

She then fled on the stolen bicycle.

She was located by police and arrested.

The woman was charged with two counts of theft and possession under $5,000 and assault and held for bail.
