Fentanyl, meth, cash seized during a bust in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested two women and one man in relation to drug offences.

On April 15, 2021 at approximately 5:08 a.m. members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, assisted by the Critical Incident Response Team attended a residence on Longwoods Road in Chatham and executed a search warrant.

On entry to the residence, police located a male and two females inside.

They were identified and all three individuals were placed under arrest for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

A systematic search of the residence recovered the following articles:

Approximately 101 grams of suspected Fentanyl ($40,400.00);

– Approximately 57 grams of suspected methamphetamine ($8,550.00);

– 10 Percocet tablets ($50.00);

– Electronic digital scales; and

– More than $7,000.00 of Canadian and American currency.

The estimated street value of the illicit substances is $49,000.

All three were charged with:

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Percocet

The 45-year-old man of Longwoods Road in Chatham has been held pending a bail hearing.

A 29-year-old Chatham woman and a 36-year-old Chatham woman were released on an undertaking and are required to appear in court on May 13, 2021.
