Lori Marshall captures a Lerners Healthcare Champion Award

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) President and CEO Lori Marshall has been named one of five Lerners Healthcare Champion Award Recipients in Southwestern Ontario.

Marshall was nominated by the CKHA Foundation for the special healthcare recognition initiative, created by Lerners LLP, to recognize her outstanding commitment to the Chatham-Kent community throughout the past few years, and specifically for her inspirational leadership over the past 12 months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am incredibly humbled to have been named as one of the Lerners Healthcare Champions award recipients,” Marshall said in a media release.

“Thank you to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation for nominating me, and congratulations to all of the other nominees and award recipients. It really is our collective work across our communities in Southwestern Ontario that really makes a difference.”

The Lerners Healthcare Champions challenge was created to identify and reward individual professionals or teams of professionals in Southwestern Ontario who work in the areas of Healthcare and Rehabilitation, and who go above and beyond the call of duty to assist members of their communities.

“I am thrilled to see Lori being recognized as a Lerners Healthcare Champion,” stated Mary Lou Crowley, CKHAF President and CEO, in a press release.

“Her extraordinary passion for health care in our community demonstrates the true essence of this award.”

Since the start of the pandemic, Marshall has been instrumental in helping to keep CKHA patients, staff, and everyone throughout our community safe and healthy, Foundation officials say.

Winners were announced on April 15 during the Lerners virtual awards gala.

As part of Marshall’s recognition, Lerner’s will donate $5,000 to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation – her charity of choice.

These funds will help the Foundation invest in program innovation, equipment renewal and modernizing facilities to enable world-class healthcare in Chatham-Kent.

“I am so grateful for everyone in Chatham-Kent who helped to make this possible by getting the word out there, and casting their daily votes,” Crowley added in a media release.
