2021 season kicking off at Dresden Raceway on Sunday

Thundering hooves will once again be heard at Dresden Raceway as the 2021 meet kicks off Sunday afternoon, June 13, with a 10 race extravaganza.

Track officials say the season was scheduled to start May 30 but was delayed two weeks because of the lockdown in Ontario.

Sunday’s card will feature many familiar faces as Tyler Borth, Garrett Rooney and Marc St Louis are all listed to drive.

Due to provincial restrictions fans will not be permitted on Dresden Raceway property but the races can be seen on the Dresden Raceway YouTube Channel and the Dresden Raceway website (www.dresdenraceway.ca) while wagering is available on HPIbet.com.

“It’s exciting to be back at the track and have all of these hardworking horse people back doing what they love,” stated track announcer Gary Patterson, in a media release.

“We are hoping that restrictions will be lifted more and more throughout the year so we can have some fans in the grandstand sometime this year, we have lots of great things planned when that happens.”

Post time on Sunday is 1 p.m.
