House fire on Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg

Firefighters responded to a blaze at 26 Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 11:15 p.m.

“Firefighters from Stations #3 – Wallaceburg and #2 – Chatham responded to a report of a house fire,” fire officials said in a media release.

“Upon arrival, they found the exterior of the house on fire and rapidly growing. Quick actions from the crew contained the fire to the exterior of the building and carport.

Fire officials say an estimated $150,000 damage was the caused.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

“Protect your family from fire and carbon monoxide by having working smoke alarms on every level of your home and working CO alarms outside all sleeping areas (if your home has any fuel burning appliances, a fireplace, or an attached garage,” fire officials added.
