Traffic stop leads to drug charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, the officer learned that a passenger in the vehicle was currently wanted in connection with a domestic related incident.
The man was arrested and upon being searched was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
The 33-year-old man of no fixed address was further charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking.
Total street value of the seized drugs was estimated at $4,300.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and remanded until July 6, 2021.
Man charged with mischief
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late yesterday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance outside a residence in Ridgetown.
Through investigation, police learned that a cell phone was damaged during a verbal argument between a man and boy who was walking by.
A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with mischief.
He was released pending a future court date of August 13, 2021.
Stolen vehicle in Chatham Township
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the past couple weeks, unknown suspects stole a 2004 silver Dodge Caravan from a residence on Cedar Hedge Line.
The van was unplated.

Stolen transport truck – recovered
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the holiday weekend, unknown suspects stole a grey 2002 International 990 commercial truck with attached 2020 East PLA trailer from a service centre on Victoria Road.
Total value of the theft was estimated at $230,000.
Yesterday, the truck was located on Beechwood Line with minor damage.
The trailer was later located on Hastings Line near Highgate.

Stolen bicycle in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime on Monday, June 28 between midnight and 7 a.m. unknown suspects entered a garage on Molengraaf Way and stole approximately $800 worth of various tools.
A white and black Giant Defy Advanced 2 bicycle, valued at $3,000 was also stolen.

Vehicles entered in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Friday night or early Saturday morning, four unlocked vehicles in the Thornhill Crescent area were entered.
Police continue to work with the owners to determine what, if anything, was stolen.
