The Chatham-Kent chapter of the Canadian Owner and Pilots Association (COPA) 203 has announced the winner of the free ride in a WACO Biplane.
“The winner was Griffin Kalp, age 14 and he took his best friend Jackson Harling, age 14, both of Chatham… they both had an amazing flight,” stated Aaron McPhail, Chatham-Kent COPA President, in an email.
“We had exactly 200 kids sign up to win the ride.”
The ride took place at the Chatham-Kent Municipal Airport, around dinner time on the September 10, 2021.
Historically COPA 203 has run a COPA for Kids Program in September.
In previous years, they have been able to have as many as 200 kids fly in a single day.
Kalp also received a gift certificate from Mikes Place Restaurant, 564 Queen St, Chatham, Ontario to enjoy some post-flight food, courtesy of Mikes Place Restaurant.
