Storybook Trail at Dresden Rotary Park available this fall

The Dresden Branch of Chatham-Kent Public Library and Chatham-Kent Trails are embarking on an exciting adventure with the Rotary Club of Dresden.

CKPL and CK Trails aim to offer inspiring, informative programs and services to promote lifelong learning and increase literacy and physical literacy in Chatham-Kent.

A Storybook Trail in Dresden, sponsored by the Dresden Rotary Club and the Dresden Youth Association, is another way to do just that.

A permanent Storybook Trail, offering picture books mounted on sign posts, will be installed this fall beginning in Rotary Park and meandering along the trails on the south side of the Sydenham River.

“For those seeking a family friendly, self-guided activity in Dresden, Rotary Park will be a great place to start,” library officials say.

“The trail will be a wonderful way for children and the grown-ups in their lives to build literacy skills, share some family time, exercise and read.”

Library officials added: “Thanks to the generosity of the Dresden Rotary Club and the Dresden Youth Association, the Storybook Trail will combine the pleasure and wonder of children’s picture books with the benefits of walking as a family throughout our beautiful community.”

Bring your walking shoes, reading glasses if you need them, and come out to enjoy a good book and the great outdoors.

The Storybook Trail will be coming to Dresden’s Rotary Park very soon.

Watch for CKPL’s official launch announcement in the fall.
