Man charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 7:30 a.m. police responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence on King Street East in Chatham.

Upon arrival, police confirmed that the rear apartment had been entered.

With the assistance of video surveillance, police identified the man responsible.

Shortly after 8 a.m. police located the man and he was arrested.

A 39-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and remanded with a future court date of October 6, 2021.

Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday afternoon, a verbal argument between a woman and her ex-boyfriend, resulted in the man throwing a piece of wood at her car.

Damage to the womanā€™s car was estimated at $700.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.

The 32-year-old Bothwell man was charged with mischief under $5,000 and released pending a future court date of November 16, 2021.

Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 14, 2021 the man was released from Court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to be within 100 meters of a specific Wallaceburg woman.

Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police found the man and woman together.

The 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic stop leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle on Queen Street in Chatham.

Officers located the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated on Lorne Avenue.

Through investigation, police learned that the driver was currently bound by a condition to stay out of the former city of Chatham, except when in the company of his surety, for court appearances or appointments with his lawyer.

The man was arrested as he was not with his surety.

Officers further learned that the man was currently suspended from driving for unpaid fines and that the license plates were not registered for the vehicle.

The 41-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions, driving while under suspension and using plates not authorized for the vehicle.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen truck in Camden Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 1:30 a.m. unknown suspects stole a grey 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 crew cab pick-up truck from a residence on Wabash Line.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 13J A18.

Stolen truck in Chatham Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday morning between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. unknown suspects stole a red 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck from a residence on St. Clair Parkway between Stewart Line and Langstaff Line.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates AJ14 138.

Traffic enforcement in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Raleigh Street.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was driving a motorcycle while under suspension, using plates not authorized for the vehicle and driving with no insurance.

The 36-year-old Harwich Township man was charged and will be required to attend court on November 3, 2021.

The license plates were seized and the motorcycle was towed from the scene.

Break and enter in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspects entered a garage on Gillard Street and stole:

– Stihl MS170 chainsaw with 16ā€ blade

– Stihl MS180 chainsaw with 18ā€ blade

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $1,000.
