Chatham-Kent OPP officials allege: December 13, 2021, at approximately 2:30 a.m. members of the Chatham-Kent Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision near the 121 km marker in the East bound lanes of Highway 401.
The collision involved a tractor trailer and a cargo van.
As a result of the collision, the cargo van rolled and came to rest in the ditch.
Emergency service responded and the lone occupant of the van was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Reconstructionist from the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team attended the scene and are investigating the cause of the collision.
The investigation is in its early stages.
