Mike Lalonde

Michael Terrance “Mike” Lalonde of Sarnia and formerly of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully in Sarnia on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the age of 74.

Mike was the son of the late Donat ‘Doc’ and Ruth (Asselstine) Lalonde.

Beloved husband of Carolyn (Routley).

Loving father of Lisa Bohdal (Joe) and Matthew Lalonde and grandfather to Caley (Damien), Madison, Chloe and Aubrey.

Dear brother of Dick (Patricia) and brother-in-law to Janet Penney (Bob) and the late Bob Routley and son-in-law of the late Bob & Marion Routley.

Mike grew up in Wallaceburg and many will remember him from Dominion Grocery Store and Tony Myers’ Men’s Wear.

In 1988, he became the proud owner of his own store.

Matthew’s Fashions for Men. Mike loved talking and meeting new people and nobody could deny that he knew how to fit a suit.

After closing his store, he moved to Port Franks and didn’t let his talent go to waste at Peckitt’s Men’s Wear.

After retiring, Mike enjoyed going to shows, reading, gardening, meeting up with his friends and doing crosswords at Canatara Park.

Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A special thank you to the people at St. Joseph Hospice in Sarnia for their loving care and support during his final days.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be announced in early January.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.

Interment in Moore Union Cemetery at a later date.
