Update: Greenview Aviaries exotic animal theft valued at $25,000

The theft of exotic animals at Greenview Aviaries in Morpeth, which was announced by the Chatham-Kent Police Service on Wednesday, is Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers’ ‘Crime of the Week’.

“Sometime overnight between October 2021 and November, 2021 unknown suspects forced their way into a building at Greenview Aviaries Park and Zoo on Talbot Trail in Morpeth,” Crime Stoppers officials said in a media release.

“Once inside the suspects removed a squirrel monkey, a lemur, several parrots and cockatoos. The value of the theft is over $25,000. Crime Stoppers is seeking information that can identify the persons responsible for this break, enter and theft.”

Crime Stoppers officials added: “If you know who is responsible call 1-800-222-8477 with your anonymous information. You could earn a cash reward.”
