Police: Possession of stolen property, no infractions at RIDE checks

Woman arrested for possession of stolen property

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning police responded to a break, enter and theft complain to a property undergoing renovations on Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.

Approximately $2,700 of wire and copper pipe was removed.

Through investigation police located some of the property.

Two suspects were identified as being in possession of that property.

A 56-year-old Wallaceburg woman was located and arrested for possession of stolen property.

She was released with a future court date of April 15, 2022.

A warrant is being requested for the second person.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE)

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police conduced RIDE spot checks in various locations in Chatham, Blenheim and Wallaceburg.

A total of 842 vehicles were stopped and checked with no infractions observed.

As road safety is a priority for our Police Service, we would like to remind everyone that RIDE spot checks will continue throughout our community to keep all road users safe.
