The Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Waste Connections of Canada Ridge Landfill have announced an “unprecedented” Household Hazardous Waste program for 2022.
There will be one event per month between April and November at one central location, which will make it more convenient for all Chatham-Kent residents to participate, Municipal officials say.
These events will allow residents to safely dispose of household hazardous material at no charge and divert this material from the garbage stream where it could cause injury to collection workers or environmental damage.
The event location is Veolia Environmental, located at 141 Prosperity Way near Chatham.
The scheduled says are as follows:
– Tuesday, April 12, 2022, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
– Saturday, May 14, 2022, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
– Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
– Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
– Tuesday, August 9, 2022. 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
– Saturday, September 10, 2022, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
– Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
– Tuesday, November 8, 2022, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
