The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is pleased to announce the addition of new physicians to the organization.
Dr. Lana Shaiba has joined the Paediatrics department and Dr. Maria Andrievskaya joins the Critical Care department.
“We are so pleased to welcome Drs. Shaiba and Andrievskaya to CKHA and the community of Chatham-Kent,” said Dr. Pervez Faruqi, Chief of Staff, CKHA, in a press release.
“Their skills, expertise and knowledge will make a positive impact on our delivery of safe, high quality care.”
Hospital officials say after earning her medical degree in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Shaiba (shay-bah) completed her paediatric residency at the University of British Columbia.
She furthered her education by completing a Fellowship in Neonatology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Shaiba has most recently been working as the Head of Neonatology at the King Khalid University Hospital in Saudi Arabia.
With Dr. Shaiba’s experience as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University, she plans to become an Adjunct Professor at Western University to fulfill her passion for education.
Dr. Shaiba’s young family resides in Ancaster, Ontario while her husband finishes his education.
She is thrilled to have relocated from Saudi Arabia to Chatham, which will allow her to see family much more often.
Dr. Shaiba is now accepting patient referrals and is located at the Chatham-Kent Child and Adolescent Clinic, 202 King St. West in Chatham.

“I am looking forward to returning to paedatrics as this is my original specialty and taking on a new challenge here in Chatham-Kent. I also look forward to being closer to my family in Southwestern Ontario,” said Dr. Shaiba, in a media release.
Dr. Andrievskaya (an-dree-ev-ski-ah) began her medical education at the Samara State Medical University, receiving her Doctor of Medicine in General Medicine in 2004.
She continued to advance her medical training by completing her Internal Medicine Residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in New York in 2017 and a Nephrology and Critical Care Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan in 2020.
Currently, Dr. Andrievskaya is working at Windsor Regional Hospital and is involved with their Critical Care Associate (CCA) and Protected Code Blue (PCB) programs.
CKHA officials say they are “delighted” to have Dr. Andrievskaya join the department of Critical Care.
