Man arrested for possession of prohibited weapon
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 5 p.m. on June 30, 2022, officers came into contact with a male party in Wallaceburg known to have a warrant for his arrest.
Upon searching the male after the arrest he was found to be in possession of a switch blade.
The male was on a lifetime weapons ban for a previous conviction.
As a result, a 40-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested for the warrant, possession of a prohibited weapon and breaching his release conditions.
He was held pending a bail hearing.
Man arrested for being intoxicated in a public place
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 7:55 p.m., officers received information that a male was passed out on Grand Avenue.
Officers attended and found the male unconscious.
Through investigation, it was determined that the male was intoxicated by alcohol and unable to care for himself.
The 50-year-old Chatham man who was unable to care for himself was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was lodged until sober.
Man arrested for uttering threats, assault with a weapon and warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 30, 2022, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a male party at the Elephants Nest bar refusing to leave when asked to.
The male party proceeded to threaten to throw a rock through the window of the business and eventually threw a rock at employees of the business before leaving the area.
A short time later, after a brief foot chase with police when located, the 27-year-old man was arrested for uttering threats, assault with a weapon and the outstanding warrants he had.
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, and lodged pending a bail hearing.
