Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue issue warning to stay off the Black Bridge

Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue is asking residents to stay off the Black Bridge because of safety concerns.

“CK Fire responded to the bridge for a reported fire just after 6 p.m. (on Wednesday) evening,” fire officials said in a media release.

“Crews arrived to find railway ties and wooden bridge decking ignited and the fire was quickly extinguished. There was serve damage to the structure and large gaps in the decking have affected the integrity bridge.”

The Black Bridge is private property and any access to this area is trespassing, fire officials added.
