Police: Robbery investigation continues in Wheatley, Operation Impact, bail violation, warrant

Operation Impact

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Beginning at 8:30 a.m. and throughout the day, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit and Community Patrol Officers conducted a traffic enforcement blitz in various locations throughout the municipality.

As a result, 51 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for speeding and other Highway Traffic Act violations.

Man arrested for bail violation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:33 p.m., police began an investigation into a bail violation.

It was learned the court released the man with conditions including remaining in his Thomas Street residence in Wallaceburg between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The police located the man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg and arrested him.

The 31-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 4:27 a.m., police located the man on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

It was learned the man was wanted for failing to attend court, and he was arrested.

Police searched the man incident to arrest and found a suspected controlled substance on his person.

The 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Crime of the Week

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers officials allege: Just before 11 p.m. on Sunday October 9, an unknown suspect entered the Circle K located on Talbot Road West.

The suspect proceeded behind the counter and demanded money, brandishing a knife and a crowbar. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene West from the store.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 6’ tall, stalky build, wearing a black ski mask, grey hoodie, blue jeans and black gloves.

Chatham-Kent Police K9 was called out which led officers to believe that the suspect got into a vehicle and fled
the scene.
