Attempted murder charge laid after a shooting in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 30, 2023, at approximately 1 a.m., the victim, a 32-year-old adult male, was shot after having a confrontation with a second male person while in the area of King Street West and Fifth Street in Chatham, Ontario.

The accused a 25-year-old male has been placed under arrest, transported to Police Headquarters, and scheduled to make a court appearance later today.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries, listed in stable condition.

The investigation has determined this to be an isolated incident between persons known to each other.
