Wallaceburg’s Sydenham Pool temporarily closing for renovations

The Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool, a beloved community facility, will be temporarily closed for renovations starting July 31, 2023.

Municipal officials say the pool is expected to reopen on September 8, 2023, “with exciting improvements” to the men’s and women’s changerooms and the front desk area.

During the closure, all pool memberships will be put on hold to ensure that members are not charged for the duration of the renovations.

However, community members will have the opportunity to access any of the Municipality’s seven outdoor pools and one indoor pool with free recreational swims all summer long as part of CKRecreation’s Summer Fest line-up.

“We are thrilled that our facility is receiving these much-needed upgrades,” said Amy Wadsworth, Manager of Recreation Services and Community Engagement, in a media release.

“The renovations to the changerooms and front desk area will enhance the overall experience for our community members, and we look forward to welcoming them back once the work is complete.”

Highly sought-after swimming lessons will resume in the fall and will open for registration during the regular fall sign-up period.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the community for their understanding and support during the renovation period,” added Wadsworth.

“The improvements being made to the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will ensure that it continues to be a safe and enjoyable space for all residents.”
