Egg thrown from a vehicle strikes pedestrian in the eye, causing severe injuries

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 9, 2023, at 11:10 p.m., a vehicle was observed travelling southbound on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

During this time, an occupant threw an egg from the vehicle’s passenger side window, striking a pedestrian in the eye.

This incident took place in close proximity to Oxley Drive.

The victim was transported to the hospital with severe injuries.

The vehicle is described as an older model, square-body pickup truck with a chrome grill.
