Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced the addition of a new physician to the organization.
With a wealth of international experience and a passion for patient care, Dr. Omoniyi Akinpeloye is set to make a significant contribution to CKHA’s services, working in the Hospitalist Program and Progressive Care Unit, hospital officials say.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Akinpeloye to our hospital,” said Dr. Pervez Faruqi, Chief of Staff, CKHA, in a media release.
“His contributions to our services will be a great addition CKHA and help us further our commitment to delivering Patient and Family Centered Care to the Chatham-Kent community.”
Dr. Akinpeloye began his career in his home country of Nigeria.
He later moved to the Republic of Ireland where he pursued further training and served as an Internal Medicine Specialist at various hospitals throughout Ireland.
In his new role at CKHA, Dr. Akinpeloye will be an integral part of the Hospitalist Program, which oversees a range of inpatient areas, including the Medicine Units, Complex Continuing Care, and the Rehabilitation Unit, CKHA officials say.
The Hospitalist Program is crucial in providing care to complex and long-term inpatients, including those referred from the Emergency Room and patients requiring physical medical care in the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
The addition of Dr. Akinpeloye to the healthcare team reflects CKHA’s commitment to delivering high quality patient care.
Dr. Akinpeloye will also contribute his expertise to the Progressive Care Unit.
This unit specializes in caring for patients with cardiac issues and chronic illnesses, often working towards stabilizing and improving patients’ health to facilitate their discharge or transfer to other units.
