Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:26 p.m., police responded to a break and enter in progress at North Element on Garnet Street in Wallaceburg.
Upon arrival, witnesses provided the officers with a description of the man and his direction of travel.
Officers located the man running away from the scene and took him into custody.
The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with break-and-enter.
He was transported to police headquarter and held pending a bail hearing.
