Impaired driving charge laid in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:42 p.m., police received information a woman travelling from Chatham to Tilbury on Queens Line was driving impaired.

Officers attended the area and located the vehicle travelling south on Ella Street in Tilbury.

The officer conducted a traffic stop at King and Whittle Road.

The officer believed the woman was driving while impaired.

A roadside breath test was administered, and the woman was arrested.

She was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

The 56-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing or refusing to comply with a breath demand.

She was released with conditions and a future court date of December 18, 2023.
