Weapons charges laid in Chatham after brass knuckles were seized

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:45 a.m., police responded to Emma Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.

Officers arrived on the scene and located the man.

The man was bound by conditions prohibiting him from possessing prohibited and/or restricted weapons for life.

Through a search incident to arrest officers found the man in possession of “brass knuckles, which is considered a prohibited weapon as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada.

The 27-year-old West Lorne man was arrested and released with a future court date of May 6, 2024.

He is currently charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession contrary to an order.
