Stunt driving charges laid in Lambton County on Highway 40

Lambton OPP officials allege: On March 30, 2024, at 8:00 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle on Highway 40 near Petrolia line that was exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 50 km/h.

A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking with a driver it became apparent they had consumed an alcoholic beverage, and a roadside screening device was administered.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to a Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two samples over the legal limit.

A 33-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with the following:

– Operation While Impaired and,

– Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
